Scientific Basis of Purenzia LED

Purenzia LED (Light Emitting Diode) works through photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as low-level light therapy (LLLT). This is a process where light energy is absorbed by cellular chromophores (such as cytochrome c oxidase in mitochondria), promoting biochemical effects that favor tissue repair and regeneration.

LED WAVES

Biological Effects by Wavelength

Each LED color corresponds to a specific wavelength, which penetrates different layers of the skin and activates different responses.

Clinical Evidence

In vitro and in vivo studies show that photobiomodulation:

  • Improves collagen and elastin synthesis;
  • Reduces inflammatory markers;
  • Accelerates wound healing;
  • Reduces the bacteria count in acne;

Practical cases

Study by Barolet et al. (2009)

Demonstrated significant clinical improvement in photoaging after 8 weeks of treatment with red LED (630-660 nm).

This LED intensity is present in Purenzia LED, also in red.

  • 🧬 Mechanisms of Action

    LED light therapy, or photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths to stimulate cellular processes. Red light (630–660 nm) and near-infrared light (850 nm) reach deep layers of the skin, promoting collagen, elasticity and reducing inflammation. Blue light (415 nm), which acts on the surface, is effective against bacteria associated with acne.

  • 🧪 Scientific Evidence - I

    Skin Rejuvenation

    A recent clinical study revealed that red and infrared LED therapies (630 nm and 850 nm) are effective, safe and well tolerated in skin rejuvenation.

  • 🧪 Scientific Evidence - II

    Wrinkle Reduction and Improved Elasticity

    In clinical trials with 33 participants, a face-fitting LED mask demonstrated a 340% improvement in deep skin elasticity compared to conventional LED masks, as well as significantly reducing wrinkles and sagging.

  • 🧪 Scientific Evidence - III

    Acne Treatment

    A study of 216 participants who used red and/or blue LED devices at home reported a 45.3% reduction in acne after 4 to 12 weeks of use. The devices were most effective when combined with other acne treatments.

  • 🧪 Scientific Studies on LED Masks

    A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study evaluated the efficacy of an LED mask with wavelengths of 630 nm (red) and 850 nm (near infrared) in the treatment of periocular wrinkles. After 16 weeks of use, a significant improvement in skin elasticity and reduction of wrinkles was observed compared to the control group. The treatment was well tolerated, with no adverse effects reported.

  • ⚠️ Safety and Considerations

    Most studies indicate that LED therapy is safe and well tolerated, with mild side effects such as pigmentation changes, dryness and redness. However, people with photosensitivity, epilepsy or hyperpigmentation should consult a dermatologist before starting treatment. The effectiveness of devices can vary, so consistent use is essential for visible results.

Acne Treatment

A systematic review and meta-analysis published in JAMA Dermatology analyzed six clinical studies involving 216 participants with mild to moderate acne. The use of red (630–670 nm) and blue (414–445 nm) LED devices resulted in a 45.3% reduction in inflammatory lesions and a 47.7% reduction in noninflammatory lesions after 4 to 12 weeks of treatment. The devices were found to be safe and effective.
